The customer is the world’s leading aero engine and component repair service provider. Being the MRO operator of choice for some of the biggest names in the aviation world, the customer wanted to leverage data to make the right decisions.

Problem Statement

The online retailer, XYZ Retail, was facing significant challenges in expanding its business beyond the local market. While the company had a robust product catalog and a dedicated customer base, it struggled to gain traction in the competitive global e-commerce landscape. The existing website lacked the scalability and user experience needed to attract and retain international customers, resulting in limited sales and market reach.

Challenges

Lack of centralized data estate was impacting the customer’s decision-making capabilities. Additionally, lack of timely visibility of key information and multiple versions of truth across the organization were making it tough for the decision-makers to leverage insights in a cost-effective manner for improved business performance. The engine manufacturer was unable to leverage ML-based insights to drive operational efficiencies. To leverage the data, the customer chose Tata Technologies, a global leader in digital engineering services for the aerospace industry

Solution

The customer was looking to expand their data-management infrastructures massively and quickly. They sought enablement of Data Lake solutions – to hold, process, and analyze structured and unstructured data, as the preferred solution.
Our team of data experts designed and implemented function-wise data marts, including, finance, business planning, operations, product data engineering, and safety quality. This enabled the customer to procure function-specific data to create their own dashboards and generate insights for their business, leveraging Power BI.
Going above and beyond, Tata Technologies demonstrated its comprehensive capabilities in enterprise data management, capturing defects in aircraft components (fan blades) by leveraging computer vision. We also enabled self-service analytics, allowing end users without data or analytics expertise to gain data insights .
As a result of the structured data flow, insights into relevant data, and data and reports automation, the customer realized approximately 15% improvement in employee productivity. Moreover, the various analytics-driven programs lead to a reduction in repetitive tasks, thereby resulting in approximately 250K USD yearly savings for the client.
